There's something just really cool about and old-school soda fountain.
Patterson's Drug Store in Martinsburg is the local drug store, but there is also a counter running along the side that dishes out milkshakes, sundaes, floats and more.
I looked over the menu and went for a "Gi Gi Sundae" to go. The "Gi Gi" is made with salty caramel truffle ice cream topped with chocolate syrup, whipped cream and a cherry.
I only wish I could have had a beautiful glass for a classic photo, but taking it to go was even better.

There's something about a colorful display of floor-to-ceiling candy bins. At the Charlotte airport, there is a Dylan's Candy Bar location that caught my eye.
Dylan's Candy Bar transports its guests to a modern day version of Willy Wonka's factory the moment they enter. Its pop art installations—such as the iconic oversized lollipop tree, candy cane columns, dripping chocolate shelves, kaleidoscopic candy wallpaper and candy-embedded staircases—embody the pinnacle of "retail-tainment". The ultra-sensory experience is enhanced with delectable smells, a candy timeline and a vast milieu of candy songs and commercials awarding customers not just a sugar high, but a sweet lasting euphoria.
There are so many bins with gummies, chocolates, sour candies and much more. And I got a little of everything.

Moonlight Cookies is a late-night cookie shop that satisfies your sweet tooth - even at midnight.
This shop is located in Huntington's Heritage Station.
The space is relaxing and even has a cute book section.
They have a variety of standard cookies and specialty ones depending on the day.
They have "The OG" which is the original chocolate chip cookie made with house dough and semi and milk chocolate chips.
They have the "Salty Blonde" which is caramel and sea salt with caramel chips and caramel bits.
And they have the "P.B." which is a peanut butter cookie with peanut butter chips and swirled with crunchy peanut butter.
I went for the "Salty Blonde" from the original house cookies.
And then I got a few specialty ones - a mint and chocolate chip one, a chocolate and peanut butter one and more.
And what is better than pairing that with hot chocolate? Nothing.
The campfire hot chocolate comes with toasted marshmallows on top. What's your favorite cookie here?
Over-the-top milkshakes are a thing.
And the local go-to is Bella Rose in Hurricane.
It was previously operating under a different name, but recently reopened under Bella Rose and added food.
Unfortunately they had run out of most of the food, so I focused on dessert.
I went for a s'mores over-the-top milkshake that included charred marshmallows, Hershey's chocolate and graham cracker.
There are a number of over-the-top shakes to choose from.

While walking around Cincinnati looking for murals, we saw the Macaron Bar.
The brightly colored sign and hint of delicious French treats teased us so we ventured in.
Macarons are a simple concept, but they're so quaint and require technical skill. The shop had a dozen or so flavors, and I picked a pretty one to try: Birthday Cake.
Mmm you can never go wrong with macarons.

The Greenbrier has all kinds of delicious restaurants to try.
But a very simple stand if you have a sweet tooth is The Candy Factory.
"The Candy Maker offers world-famous handmade truffles and other tempting confections to impress that special someone or simply to treat yourself with an indulgent sweet! Select chocolates are also available in The Greenbrier Online Store."
I got a few of the Greenbrier-theme chocolates (plus a caramel!).
And, if you instead want an entire collection, they have that too!
I mean, it just draws you in.
Yes, please.
And even chocolate-covered strawberries! Have you tried it?
