I recently stopped at the Great Chinese Buffet in Moundsville - but not for the buffet. Rather, I ordered takeout. Buffets are hard for me to swallow in a post-Covid world. But, I do love the variety you can get out of buffet.

I tried the General Tso's Shrimp, which is not something you see everywhere. I really like the idea of this because I'm not a huge fan of the quality of chicken in this particular dish, but the breading on the shrimp was just overwhelming. It was mostly soft breading covered in sauce, which made it soggy. There was virtually no actual shrimp.

Chicken with peanut sauce was interesting. It ate a little dry and slightly bland, but if the flavors were punched up, this would have been great.

The wontons may have been my favorite part of dinner; they are reliably crunchy and creamy at the same time. Plus, this is one of my favorite shapes because you get a ton of filling.

Moundsville is growing, and I'm happy to see that. I still think there is some room for new restaurants, but I was excited to stumble upon Osaka Sushi & Hibachi Steak House.

I ordered some crab rangoons (of course), a Californis roll and a crab cream cheese roll. It was like I ate the same thing in three different forms. And, this was all to go, so I wouldn't mind stopping to dine in sometime.

The crab rangoons were good, as they usually are. I like that the wrapper was a little bit thinner than usual and had a good sweet sauce to go with them. Both sushi rolls were fine – nothing crazy. Just fairly average. I will say that they were maybe attach on the dry side but that's just personal preference.

Nana's Pizza and Pie is a Moundsville restaurant that serves up pizzas and ice cream.

The restaurant is cute with a red awning and a dozen or so booths and tables inside.

The counter to the left has a variety of ice cream.

And the counter to the front is where you get your pizza.

I ordered the Nana's pepperoni rolls, which are rolled with cheese and served with sauce.

And I got two scoops of ice cream to go! What a great combo.

Pink Door Pizza in Moundsville was recommended to me as one of the best pepperoni rolls in the area.

Mason Dixon Barbecue Co. is a new restaurant in Moundsville.
I'm really excited to see some new dining options in Moundsville, and I'm especially excited about the play on the name.

A lot of folks tend to think of West Virginia only being below the Mason Dixon Line, and for folks like me who are from the Northern Panhandle, it's important to remember us.

Bob's Lunch is a small restaurant in Moundsville.

We are a "baked fresh daily" bakery. This means that everyday we are putting out fresh baked goods. From our famous mad dogs, to our delicious glazed donuts we put out fresh donuts right up to closing! We also have some very talented cake decorators on staff who make all types of cakes, including wedding cakes and birthday cakes! And don't forget our bread, pies, cookies, and other pastries! Call ahead to place orders!

I had to get a butterscotch cookie, which was a pumpkin, and one of the Mad Dogs, which I got in peanut butter.

This is quite the little bakery. Out-of-this-world pastries and goodies. I'll definitely be making another stop on my way through Moundsville in the future.
