Madeleine's was one of my favorite restaurants in Morgantown, but it sadly moved on.
We've seen bits and pieces of its recipes that have lived on in various restaurants through town.
And, now the original folks have started Madeleine Marie's Catering & Carryout at 260 Green Street.
I placed an order online and went to pick up my order. They have some seating and a small section of West Virginia products.
I went for their classic Creole Shrimp 'N Grits.

There's a new healthy & nutritional shop in Morgantown.
Healthy's Nutrition focuses on Herbalife products.
It's a three-step process here. First, you have a shot of aloe.
Then, you get a tea that is supposed to burn calories. I went with raspberry.
Then, you get a meal-replacement shake. I went for a s'mores. What do you all think?
If you're a West Virginia University alum, it's likely you've heard about the famous Boone County pig roast.
This WVU alumni event was held at the Madison City Park, and folks from all over came to join in on the festivities. I was lucky enough to hang out with Whitney and Jeremy Hatcher - Boone Co. royalty!
They start roasting the pig early in the morning, and many folks come down early in the day to kayak on the water.
In addition to the pig they roast, they have lots of tasty options for the dinner.
There is BBQ, hot bologna, potato salad, macaroni salad, cole slaw, nachos and cookies.
Yessss.
Plus, they have freshly squeeze lemonade.
And kettle corn! Have you been?

In the former Vintage Room (then RocKa Poke Noodle Bar) is a new restaurant: Embers.
Embers has a very open space, with a cool bar area.
The menu is large and features tacos, sandwiches, burgers and brunch.
For my meal, I ordered three tacos: Maui Wauwi - grilled chicken, pineapple, bacon, jalapeños and drizzled with bbq sauce. Dazed Steak - marinated steak, bacon marmalade, lettuce and shredded cheese. Santa Fe - marinated steak, grilled peppers and onions, lettuce and shredded cheese
