Driving through Chapmanville, I stumbled upon Dairy Delight.

This restaurant has a focus on ice cream, but also has a variety of tasty burgers, hot dogs, chicken strips and more.

I ordered the Peanut Fudge Parfait, which is like a peanut buster parfait from Dairy Queen. 

They even have ice cream cakes and other treats ready-made for pick-up.

But you can't go wrong with this flavor combo.

While traveling, I always seek out locally owned restaurants. But, it's also fun to try those regional chain restaurants that you can't find at home.

While heading back home, I wanted something quick along my travels, and it was the perfect opportunity to try a few place I've never had before.

Raising Cane's - The Box Combo - this was a pretty small menu and the sauce was similar to Zaxby's.

Krystal is kind of like a White Castle with all kinds of minis - I tried a mini cheeseburger, a mini hot dog, a corndog and a mini chicken slider ... and an Oreo milkshake. Not bad! Which is your favorite?

Glassworks Grill in Wilson Lodge at Oglebay is a relaxed restaurant that serves everything from burgers and salads to pizzas and handhelds.

I went with the firecracker shrimp, which is "Panko Shrimp, Honey Sriracha Sauce, Ginger Soy Salad." Sweet with a touch of spicy!

A juice is always perfect for a roadtrip. So, we stopped at Franklin Juice Co. to get our fix.

I went with a small "Rio" smoothie, which has strawberries, blueberries, mango, banana and apple juice. Yummy!

Pink Door Pizza in Moundsville was recommended to me as one of the best pepperoni rolls in the area.

Located downtown, the restaurant serves up pizzas, as well as pasta, salads, fried apps, and desserts.

I put in an order for a half dozen pepperoni rolls (the smallest order) and hung out til they were ready. There is a good bit of seating for folks who would like to dine in.

Once my pepperoni rolls were ready, I took the box and continued on my drive, popping them in my mouth along the way. 

These rolls were piping hot little buns. They had slices of pepperoni with stringy mozzarella stuffed inside. Plus a side of marinara.
