Just outside of Charleston is a BBQ joint that is well-loved amongst the locals.

Bowles Boyz BBQ in Sissonville serves up pulled pork, beef brisket, sausage links and more.

The menu features a lot of other goodies, too - tons of sides, family feasts and desserts.

I went with a pulled pork BBQ sandwich with slaw.

And two different sides - one is mac & cheese with penne pasta.

Another is cheesy hash browns. Clearly I can't get enough cheese.

And, they even have ice cream.

Check out these flavors.

I went for a milkshake with cookiez n' cream.

Have you ever driven through Martinsburg and saw the building with the giant crab on top?

That's Mother Shuckers Crab Shack, a local restaurant that specializes in fresh seafood.

The menu features crab, salmon, scallops, shrimp, mussels, oysters and more.

I went for one of their "specialties" - snow crab & shrimp platter served with drawn butter and two sides. On this day, it was dungeness, and I got sweet corn fritters and shrimp macaroni salad as my sides.

I don't think I knew what I was in for when I ordered this. But a giant bucket was delivered to me before my platter.

This was a ton of delicious food. Yes, it was work. But it was also so worth it.

I've had the pawpaw ice cream. The pawpaw sorbet. And now, I had to try the pawpaw muffin. Pawpaw season at Ellen's is the best.

St. Clairsville has a cute little downtown area and tucked in the midst is a DiCarlo's location.

This one has a modern take, with cute plants on each table and a trendy vibe.

The pizza was piping hot with long shreds of mozzarella and provolone that just melted gently overtop.
