Martinsburg recently hosted their Chocolate Fest & Book Faire, which showcases authors and downtown businesses. And a side of chocolate.
Because my job is pretty cool, I was able to go check it out.
One of my first stops was a tour of DeFluri's Fine Chocolates.
I've been to this shop before but not in the factory, so that was fun.
We got to see chocolates being made from start to finish.
DeFluri's had a mint truffle.
And I snagged chocolates at each spot I went to.
There are so many cool little spots - like this drug store.
Which had delicious deconstructed s'mores.
And these yummy chocolates at the local book store.
While in town, I got to explore a bit.
Like this beautiful glass shop.
And a puppet theater.
And the Roundhouse, which I finally got to take a tour of!
It is not only a really cool, unique architectural piece.
It also earned a spot in history by making railroad "frogs," which help direct one set of train tracks to another.
And, they have this giant apple time capsule.

Mario's Pizza is one of many pizza shops in Charleston, but a friend recently told me this was his favorite.
Located on Bigley Avenue, this shop has just a few tables inside so most of the business is carry-out or delivery.
I ordered a 12" pizza with mushrooms and cheese breadsticks.
Cheesy breadsticks
Pizza - which is your favorite in town?
Nothing makes me happier than being able to order food online & have it delivered to my door with minimal human interaction. So, Charleston 2 Go has answered many of my prayers. One restaurant I noticed on their website that I haven't tried before was Fat Bob's Roadhouse Diner.
After a little bit of searching, I learned Fat Bob's is located at the Harley-Davidson shop and has been named to the 101 Most Unique Places to Dine list. The menu features a few sandwiches, burgers and soups/salads. This is the Fatbob - 6 oz. specially blended 80/20 burger with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, housemade Thousand island dressing and choice of cheese. I went with American. Served with a side of chips.

One of my dear friends, Leah, was in town so I wanted to figure out a quick spot for happy hour, and Vino's came to mind.
Mostly because I had never been, and with its bright ed door facing Kanawha Boulevard and demanding a presence, I've always been curious.
The happy hour menu is super affordable, with house wine at $2.
There are a good bit of video games and TVs, so probably a good spot to watch any big game.
The happy hour menu had appetizers in addition to drinks - and Leah got some pork rinds, but I couldn't resist checking out the full thing.
And wouldn't you know it - something called buffalo wontons were there.
Thats buffalo chicken dip all wrapped up in a wonton wrapper and side of bleu cheese dressing.
