Taps at Heritage is the new-ish craft beer bar in Huntington. When I was last here, it was Summit.
This place still has the same cool menu, and I love seeing all the options right in front of me. Options change all the time.
Petrus Sour Apricot
Laguintas' Aunt Sally, Founders Rubaeus, and Barista Chocolate Quad
Old Spruce Tavern is a mainstay among locals at Snowshoe.
There's plenty of seating at the bar with a nice beer menu.
Smoked trout dip with toasted bread, carrots and celery
The Lucky Dill opened up a new section of the deli - one that involves drinking and throwing axes. $40 for one hour and up to four people. Axes & Ales is a new fun thing in town. It's a lot harder to get the axes to stick than you might think, but after swinging through and trying to get it to circle, I landed a few.
Bar 101, which is directly next door to Ichiban, shares some their food for happy hour specials - as well as drinks. I got an Almost Heaven roll but gobbled it up before I got a photo.
Pama-tini - PAMA, pomegranate vodka, cranberry juice & grenadine
Austin is a really cool city and has a pretty vibrant downtown life. One place in particular that my friend Julia was set on trying was The Driskill, a historic hotel with incredible bar.
We stopped in for a drink and a small bite. The space is sprawling and comfy. Elegant - save for maybe some of the patrons on this evening.
Because it said it was the "Official Cocktail of Austin," I ordered The Batini: Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Hibiscus & Ginger Simple Syrup, Agave Sweet & Sour.
You can call me a fan of The Batini. Sweet, but not too sweet. Beautiful and refreshing.
We also split a red velvet cupcake that was simply to die for. It was moist, perfectly whipped frosting and just delish.
This is a lovely place for a drink, and some Grade A people watching.

Relax and unwind at the Driskill Bar, with a feel that is Texan through and through. From the décor to the delectable drink menu, our bar is the best spot to mingle with friends and relax amid your Austin explorations. Take a seat in one of the cozy nooks, surrounded by authentic artwork, or settle into a leather sofa. Choose from a lengthy list of cocktails, wines, and beers, and stop by for the lively happy hour scene. Throughout the month, the Driskill Bar offers live music, featuring jazz, folk, country, and more via its curated calendar. For a fun-filled evening in Austin, the Driskill Bar is the place to be.

While in Pittsburgh waiting for dinner reservations, we popped into Olive Or Twist - which is pretty much the cutest name. The martini bar has some high-top tables toward the front, and then there was more seating beyond the bar for folks wanting an actual meal.
Unfortunately, we didn't get the chance to try any food, but we did get a quick drink. I ordered the "Farmer's Market," which has Three Olivers apples and Pear's, All Spice, Licor 43, and pumpkin butter.
It was very fall-inspired, which I was into. I thought this was tasty, save for the bid of sediment that settled to the bottom of the glass. I didn't care for that.
A friend told me that they have some decent snacks, so I definitely want to try that next time.
Have you been? What's the best martini to order?
