On a day off from work, I wanted to treat myself to Chinese but wanted to try a new location.
China Star is located just a few minutes away in Dunbar, and they offer a buffet as well as take-out orders.
I went for the "crispy chicken" combination dish, as well as an order of cheese wontons.
It also came with an eggroll!
Not too shabby. What's your favorite dish here?
Who doesn't love a good Chinese buffet? This one, located in South Charleston, is large and commanding of attention with a bright orange facade.
You actually pay up front and take your receipt to the hostess, who then seats you.
Always a snake.
Honey chicken is always a go-to.
Crab cheese rangoons on the corner there.
Coconut chicken, stuffed mushrooms, and breaded clam shells always dominate my plate.
Sushi, too.
Have you been?
When I found out an authentic Chinese restaurant opened in Huntington, I was super excited to check it out. I've never had authentic Chinese before! Shangri-La showed me something new.
We split an order of the Gele Mountain Spicy Chicken, which is an authentic dish but a popular one. I think this gives some more insight as to what this dish is about (hint: spicy!)
Asian Grill is a restaurant in Ashton Place that I usually overlook, but I saw that I could order online and have them deliver - with no delivery charge! And, about 20 minutes after I placed my order, I received it. Crazy fast!

This little buffet in Sophia made the Smoking Musket's food tournament list and has a strong following, so we made the stop to check it out.
Look how excited David is.
