My third Appalachian Mercantile box came in! And I'm so exited for some jam, a card, coffee, a little wooden tree, chocolate bar and shower scents.

Who doesn't love a food truck? ESPECIALLY one that specializes in cheese?!

Truckin' Cheesy is a Huntington-based food truck that serves up cheeseburgers, ham sandwiches, philly cheesesteaks, and sides of nachos and crinkle fries.

So I ordered the "Cheesin' Philly" - Two grilled cheese sandwiches with Colby/jack on toast; folded in half& loaded with our savory Philly beef or chicken, onions, bell peppers, & melted cheese sauce.

If that doesn't look delicious, I don't know what does.

A farmers' market is the perfect way to get to know a local area.

So when we went to Asheville, I wanted to check out the local vendors at the WNC Farmers Market!

There were all kinds of little goodies!

Geminellis Bistro is an Italian restaurant in Princeton from the same owner as Brandon's BBQ & Grill in Pipestem.

"At Geminellis, we take pride in bringing authentic Italian cuisine with an American flair to West Virginia. With decades experience in the restaurant and food service business, our goal is to provide the best quality ingredients, prepared and served with passion. All of our items are made from scratch, never frozen and definitely not prepared elsewhere and shipped in on trucks to be reheated. Try Geminellis today and we know you’ll be impressed with the quality, service and price."

The menu features items like lasagna, seafood manicotti, calzones, pizzas, chicken parmesan and more.

First, a small house salad with greens, cucumbers, pickled onions, tomato, croutons and bleu cheese dressing.

For my entree, I went with "Chicken & Wild Mushroom Ravioli," which is made with handcrafted raviolis stuffed with shredded chicken breast, mushrooms and cheese. It was served with an herb cream sauce.

Have you ever been?

Sunshine Sammies is a really cool restaurant that creates their own ice cream sandwiches.

But one of the things I thought was really cool was the "After School Snacks."

These are those classic Little Debbie snacks - like Zebra Cakes and MoonPies, but kicked up a notch.

Delicious!

Old World Libations is a winery, meadery and cidery located in Monroe County.

The Union-based destination is fairly new, but they're quickly growing and expanding.

Recently, I headed out this way to add another West Virginia wine/cider/mead to my collection!

They're currently open on Sunday afternoons, so if you have one free, go check 'em out.

They do a fall cider pressing that is alcohol free for folks who prefer that route.

And for those who do want a sip, they have meads (made with honey) - including an interesting vanilla one!

And cider, which is fermented apples.

The wines - including a strawberry wine - are tasty.

Oh, and while in this area of the state, I stopped at the Pence Springs Flea Market.

And for those wondering - yes, they do have food!

Asheville is known for having tons of breweries - and many, many good ones.

Wicked Weed Brewing is a well-known one.

There are some really great beers on tap here.

I had to try Candice The Barbarian! The color is light and hazy, and I loved the flavor!

The Omelet Shoppe is a classic diner that serves breakfast all day.

Located in Beckley, the Omelet Shoppe also has a few other locations: Parkersburg, two in Virginia, and a former one in Princeton.

So I walked in, seated myself and looked over the menu that was supplied to me.

The dish that popped out to me was the "smothered chicken," which was mashed potatoes, topped with a fried chicken fillet and chicken gravy, cheddar and bacon.

But first, some chocolate milk (what can I say, it's a treat).

Then, a robust house salad with tomatoes, cheddar and my choice of French dressing.

The entree was big and filling and tasty. Nothing like a homestyle dish to warm you up on a cool day.

Rhubarb is a a contemporary restaurant that focuses on farm-to-table dining.

Their menu had a few really fun, interesting options, but the one that stood out to me is a fried chicken banh mi.

This kale salad with balsamic was so simple, yet really refreshing.
