Beanders is a well-known bar and grill in Elkins.
I was excited to finally make my way here.
I seated myself and looked over the menu.
Burgers, sandwiches, salads, steaks, pasta - even Mexican!
I settled on something simple: BUFFALO CRACK ~ HOT BUFFALO RANCH CHICKEN DIP. It's served with Chips, Carrots & Celery. I love the "Caution: This stuff is addictive."

I'm still making my way around to the various bars in Charleston.
I don't go out much these days, so it's taken my quite a while to make it to some of them. One of which I've been wanting to go to - to try the food - is Copper Pint.
When I've been here before, I didn't get a chance to try anything from the menu. So, Sara and I took a happy hour trip.
First, a SeaQuench.
Sara got some fried pickles, and I went for buffalo chicken dip.
I did not realize that the Copper Pint shares the same menu with Vino's. But buffalo chicken dip is always a good time.
Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop is the oldest structure used as a bar in the United States - built between 1722 and 1732.
The structure and fence are in the old French Provincial Louis XV or Briquette-Entre-Poteauxe style used in French Louisiana. The building escaped two great fires at the turn of the 19th Century, due to slate roofing. Such slates are presently used by artists as canvases. Between 1772 and 1791, the property is believed to have been used by the Lafitte Brothers, Jean and Pierre as a New Orleans base for their Barataria smuggling operation. The legend is based on the fact that the property was owned by the family of Simon Duroche a.k.a. Castillon and the wily privateer Captain Rene Beluche. Castillon was a rather record-shy adventurer and entrepreneur. Captain Beluche commanded his ship "Spy" in Lafitte's Baratarian fleet. Although the owners of the property, Jean Baptiste Dominica Joly LaPorte probably lived on the premises, it is within reason that the Lafittes could have used the place as city base for negotiations with potential buyers of their goods. It is unlikely that a wealthy Creole would agree to meet at home on Royal Street. Bourbon and St. Phillip was probably regarded as a safe and convenient neutral ground. Like most New Orleans legends, Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop is a gumbo of truth and French, Spanish, African, Cajun and American embellishments.
I ordered the "purple drink." The house specialty is the Frozen VooDoo Daiquiri—better known as the “purple drank.”
Strong, for certain. This place is historic and very cool. There are a lot of ghost stories about it, and it's a world-famous must-see.
I'll take any excuse to visit Fayetteville, one of my favorite small towns. Bonus points if it's for food or drink! OR BOTH!
Southside Junction Tap House is a new restaurant and bar in downtown that features a great selection of craft beer, some great tasty bites and darts!
One of my all-time favorite beers is SeaQuench, so I instantly knew I need that.
And with BBQ Pulled Pork Nachos on the menu, this place had my name written all over it.
Mmmm heaven.
Look at that beautiful plate of deliciousness. The pork is slightly sweet, and all that cheese is just perfection.
Industry Public House is a cool spot combining craft cocktails with elevated American fare.
I love the inside-outside concept with wide open front windows, and the industrial piping and wood vibe.
The large bar was taken up, but we were seated at a large table inside the larger dining space.
The menu has burgers, macaroni & cheese, pot roast and more - think upscale adult comfort food.
We started with popcorn, complete with truffle oil and parmesan cheese.
For a drink, I ordered the Rhuby Rhuby Rhuby, with Wigle Rhubarb liquer, blackberries, lemon, basil and Peychaud's bitters.
How beautiful is that? And tasty!
We also ordered some fries for the table - I got the truffled, which came with white truffle oil and blue cheese cream sauce. I mean, I can never get enough truffle!
The Mountaineer Taphouse is a new addition to the Evansdale Campus - in a completely new building near the new University Park. Lots of new in Evansdale.
The location is actually on the second floor, so you enter near the convenience store and either take the stairs or elevator up - passing a cheeky pirate along the way.
The inside has wood paneling, exposed metal duct work and a large bar.
And the dining space expanded outside to a nice deck area, too.
The menu has some standard bar features like fried appetizers, wings, and burgers. It also adds flatbreads, pizzas, paninis, and sandwiches.
We ended up starting with an appetizer of "Tap House Chips," which was bleu cheese fondue topped with bacon bits, red onion, cherry tomatoes, finished with balsamic drizzle.
For my entree, I ordered the caprese panini and a side of macaroni & cheese.
Have you been?
One of my dear friends, Leah, was in town so I wanted to figure out a quick spot for happy hour, and Vino's came to mind.
Mostly because I had never been, and with its bright ed door facing Kanawha Boulevard and demanding a presence, I've always been curious.
The happy hour menu is super affordable, with house wine at $2.
There are a good bit of video games and TVs, so probably a good spot to watch any big game.
The happy hour menu had appetizers in addition to drinks - and Leah got some pork rinds, but I couldn't resist checking out the full thing.
And wouldn't you know it - something called buffalo wontons were there.
Thats buffalo chicken dip all wrapped up in a wonton wrapper and side of bleu cheese dressing.
