I know I've said it for some time now, but we really are almost finished with the Tudor's Biscuit World locations. I'm sure you're as relieved as I am.
This trip takes us to Grantsville, and with all the biscuits now under my belt, I've turned my attention to the lunch menu.
The cheeseburger was calling my name. It's not my first time having a burger here, so I knew it's a notch above typical fast food burgers. And I was here for it.
So this rendition was prettyyy messy. I don't mind lots of sauce, but it was leaking out from the bun and down my hand. The taste though? Pretty good. A slightly thicker burger than, say, a McDonald's and the lettuce, tomato and onion were all fresh. My side of onion rings had a thick, sweet coating that made for a unique side.

Another day, another Tudor's bisc-- ... or is it? No biscuits this visit, folks! When I went to the Glenville Tudor's Biscuit World location, I skipped a biscuit in favor of something different.
If you've been following along, you know that I've been trying out all the Tudor's Biscuit World locations in West Virginia (partially because I want to support local business and partially because so many restaurants have shut down during Covid19 that this is one of my few options to eat local), and making my way through the biscuits. I've officially finished every single biscuit. So let's try some lunch options.
There are really some delicious meals to choose from. And on this day, I went with the meatloaf, a side of mashed potatoes and a biscuit! I could make my own meatloaf sandwich (one of my favorite, homestyle meals!). It's as close to homestyle as you'll get in a drive-thru. And, it sure hit the spot on this day with a super tender slice of meatloaf, topped with a sweet tomato sauce.

Let's be real, folks: I'm tired of biscuits. I need a bit of a break. So when it was time to visit the Tudor's Biscuit World in Mason, I went for something different.
A Cheeseburger it is. With a side of onion rings! And Tudor's makes a pretty decent burger, to be honest.
As far as fast food burgers go, it seems to have a thicker patty that actually tastes like ground beef - and not a processed disc. And the onion rings are gigantic. Overall, pretty good.

I know it seems like I've been working on this Tudor's tour forever, and that's because I have. Am I tired of Tudor's? Yes, yes I am. But we have to go on. And this day, we visited the Tudor's Biscuit World in Ravenswood, which has a cute modern country exterior with fresh flowers.
The menu is the same, and I've now tried all the biscuits - including each of the different types of ham. So, this one is a shaved ham and cheese. Classic combo.
It's good, but at this point, I'm allowed to be a bit more picky. I don't want a ton of meat, but I also don't love when it's not full enough that the top biscuit eclipses the bottom biscuit and it's just a big bite of dry biscuit. Not bad; could be better.

Columbus is full of incredible restaurants, and its suburbs are as well. In Hilliard, the first restaurant that popped up over and over again was Starliner Diner.
Starliner Diner is known for Cuban food and breakfast - not a combo you see often. But, one that is enticing nonetheless.
"Since beginning its operation in 1995, Starliner Diner has been a local favorite to consumers in the Hilliard community and beyond. With its eclectic menu and kitschy decor, Starliner offers customers an alternative to the cookie cutter, big chain restaurants by providing them with a unique and fun dining experience.
The Cuban inspired menu also includes American and Southwestern influences and features popular dishes such as Creole Macaroni and Huevos Rancheros. This one of a kind restaurant is most often celebrated for its breakfast, and has won several awards including Best Breakfast in Columbus, Best Hangover Breakfast in Columbus, and Best Diner in Columbus as voted on by the readers of Columbus Monthly. Columbus Alive, and 614 Columbus. Be Sure to visit this Hilliard area staple and see what everyone is talking about!"
The building is unassuming outside, but once you enter, it is super colorful and painted from floor to ceiling. It has a celestial, and sunny, motif. The menu had turned to digital, simply by scanning a QR code on our table (genius!). Tons of items caught my attention: cajun jambalaya, adobo pork loin, cuban sandwich, cornbread crusted chicken casserole...
But I went with a plantain appetizer to start, and the Creole Macaroni - Chicken, Cajun sausage, onions, peppers, tomatoes, and corn tossed in a Cajun cream sauce. Served with Cuban bread.
The plantain appetizer combined that sweet and salty that I love so much. I love the fried texture to give some crisp to the mooshy plantain. And the macaroni packed some heat - in a huge package. I loved the different components with the scallions and sausage, but the pasta and sauce itself could've used some more cheese or deeper flavor. Still good overall!

We're back on that Tudor's Biscuit World groove. This time, we're in Huntington.
This location on 20th Street has "Where It All Began" on their front windows, leading many folks to believe it's the first one. But this was a hot conversation on Twitter a few years ago, where I learned the original Tudor's location was on the West Side - but not the one that's currently there.
Now that the signature biscuits are out of the way, I'm trying the remainder of the biscuits - like this egg melt. I mean. it's probably a good option for vegetarians? But since eggs are not my most favorite things, this is not my most favorite biscuit. I like that it exists. But I do not want it again.

It's time to head to the Tudor's Biscuit World in Summersville.
Let's be honest, I'm tired of biscuits. BUT, there are just a couple left. The more basic ones. And we're on a mission to try all of them.
Today is the ham biscuit - classic. There are three different ham options they offer.
The classic has this slab of ham so there are some stringy bits of fat at times. But, I like this better than the country ham. It's kind of like Easter dinner leftovers.

The Craigsville Tudor's Biscuit World was along the way during a recent road trip. So, of course I had to stop in.
The menu has all the standard biscuits, and just the couple left that I have yet to try. Like I mentioned previously, there are three kinds of ham biscuits. Last time I tried the shaved, and now I'm onto the country ham. This is a thicker ham in pieces. I may have snuck some cheese on there. Not bad; I am a bigger fan of the shaved.

After traveling around the state, we're rounding up the final couple Tudor's locations and the final couple biscuits I've yet to try.
We're getting into some pretty basic biscuits on the Tudor's Biscuit World menu, like today's shaved ham biscuit in Hurricane (did you know they have three different kinds? classic, shaved and country ham?).
Shaved is the best, in my opinion. What makes it even better? Cheese.

Technically this Tudor's Biscuit World is in Mineral Wells, but it might as well be Parkersburg's Tudor's.
We're taking it back to the OG here: the sausage biscuit. This was my go-to before embarking on the whole biscuit menu. I top it with grape jelly, and you get that perfect sweet and salty combo.
Sometimes the sausage patties can be little hockey pucks, so it can be hit or miss. But this one was decent - little small. Little dry.

You know the drill at this point: We're trying all the Tudor's locations in the state and working our way through the menu.
We've now marked off all the named biscuits, and now I'm working my way through the other breakfast. biscuits. On this trip? It's the fried steak biscuit (which I think is a chicken fried steak).
This drive-thru is kinda cute. It has like a little awning for the drive-thru, so I appreciated seeing the little unique touches.
So, let's take a look. The biscuit has no extras - though I wouldn't mind some cheese or maybe even jam. But it's good. The biscuit was fluffy. The steak wasn't overcooked (which is a real possibility). Overall, pretty good.

The old-school Tudor's Biscuit World/Gino's combos are my favorite. I like the look of these buildings, which remind me of a barn. Like this one in Eleanor.
The Eleanor Tudor's location was my chance to try one of the biscuits I've been waiting for - the fried apple biscuit. It's the only one that has a sweet take on the classic biscuit (with the exception of the blackberry special that's currently running). It's a staple.
Think of the middle of an apple cobbler - thick like apple butter and soft apples - all on a savory biscuit. Not too shabby. A little messy. But not bad.

It's time to try the Tudor's biscuit favorite of my vegetarian friends: The Dottie.
Winfield is home to a new-to-me location, so I made my way to their Tudor's Biscuit World. It looks more modern than many locations, with a single level and brick exterior. The menu is standard - they all are. Let's talk about the biscuit.
The Dottie has egg, cheese and hashbrown - no meat. So each individual part here is crucial. And, this is when I learned that a really crispy hash brown just completely changes the sandwich. This all is pretty dense and carby, so I ended up adding some ketchup. But my mind has been changed on the hashbrown. It totally changes the sandwich. If it's cripsy, it's delicious. If it's soggy, don't bother.
