Midtown Grocery & Deli was a locally owned grocery store in Whitesville that featured a deli and hand-dipped milkshakes.

Unfortunately, it shuttered earlier this year.

However, I wanted to document this nice little shop in Whitesville.

The grocery shelves were dotted with pantry staples.

And, there would also be some locally made products, like fudge.

On the other side of the space was booth seating, and made-to-order food.

The menu includes an assortment of sandwiches named after coal mining terms.

They did also serve pizza.

I ordered the "Box Crib Club," which included ham, turkey, bacon, pickles, lettuce, tomato, cheese and mayo on toast.

I love a good club sandwich, and this was no exception.

It was like a standard cold cut sandwich, but kicked up a notch when you toast the bread and add all of those fresh veggies in there.

The toast was maybe a touch over for me, but the mayo help disguise some of that.

Overall, though, it was a tasty sandwich with some equally as tasty homemade treats

Just a quick little post highlighting Stinson Grocery, a small neighborhood grocery that carries a little bit of everything: frozen foods, candy bars, household essentials and more. The "more" includes goodies from Bop & Nanas, located just up the road. Frozen scones, sandwiches and they even had a batch of ramp caramel brittle. Have you been?

White Sulphur Springs is home to a new Filipino food store.

Pinoy Store is located along Main Street and offers a wide variety of goods, not limited to those from the Philippines.

But Filipino food is really what I was excited to find. My friend Sam pointed me in the direction of some goodies to try.

So, one of the first things I picked up was cornick, this garlic-flavored corn snack. It was addictive.

Sam also introduced me to calamansi, which is like a Filipino lime flavor, and they instant noodles in this flavor. I haven't made this yet, but I am very excited to do so.

My best friend Kaitlynn's husband Josh makes ensaymada, so it was really need to see some frozen!

I also got some chocolate cream cracker things that were my own choosing - and not all that great. My bad.

When it say cracker, I wasn't thinking like an actual saltine. So they're not super flavorful and just not as doused in sugar as I probably want.

Finally, I also went for some dried mango and a mango drink, too.

Sam was tempted to get some frozen fish, but we weren't exactly equipped for frozen food on this day.

And I wanted halo halo topping, but I figured I can wait on that.

Check out my haul.

What else should I get next time?

Neely's Grocery is a deli in Wheeling. They have a whole bunch of goodies, including groceries, deli meats and salads.
You can get all sorts of boxed goods.
And sauces.
Plus you can get assorted deli meats.
And they have sandwiches.
On this day, I tried a meatball sandwich.
It's huge and loaded with cheese.
This pasta salad was unreal. SO good.

I'm literally always down for a good local grocery.

Jebbia's Market in Wheeling has fresh fruits, vegetables, a deli counter and more.

Look at those perfectly aligned fruits!

It was hard for me to not buy literally my entire week's worth of groceries here - but considering I was hours away from home that wouldn't have been a good idea anyway,

I did grab some of those gummy coins (omg yum).

Mmm.

Even an olive bar from Delallo!

They have some of their own products.

Local honey.

And I had to try the pepeproni roll dubbed "A Shadyside Tradition."
