The Village Wine Shop is a charming shop that has, of course, wine, but also a ton of other little goodies, too.
They have gourmet olive oil, cheese, jams, honey and more. And, there are definitely samples!
In fact, when I was there, I had a delicious bellini and ended up buying a whole bottle.
I was also very happy to see both nice, artisan products as well as local ones, too. Like a nice little selection of local honey.

The Bodimers Country Store is a locally owned deli and bakery that sells Amish food goods and local hand crafted goods.
They also take pie, cookie, and tart orders.
And, there is also a lunch special of your choice of a sandwich, pizza, or cheese fries.
I did a little bit of shopping to just pick up some quick snacks.
The roasted red pepper dip I picked up was fab-u-lous. It was like whipped and had a nice red pepper flavor that was a bit earthy but also sweet. I had bagel chips with it, and it was great.
I also had a container of pasta salad, which was tasty. When I was visiting, they did not have a lunch special, but there were still lots of other grab-and-go items if you're looking for a quick bite - plus lots of other ingredients to make delicious meals.

A friend shared a post from Sweet Treats By Annie on Facebook, and the scrumptious looking cinnamon rolls, small cakes and peanut butter bites captured my attention.
I messaged Annie and put in an order for a dozen cookie dough bites. What I was really excited about, though, is that she offered sugar cookie dough bites. Typically, you only find chocolate chip cookie dough. And I hate chocolate chip cookies - so these are perfect.
Let me say - these are RICH. I can't really eat a whole one at once. I take a bite or two and come back to it later. Are they super tasty though? Absolutely. Get yourself some sweet, local treats.
Graze With Me is a new charcuterie board business based in South Charleston that I had a duty to check out.
Paige Withrow, the owner, is doing these killer boards that have a little bit of everything - cheese, crackers, fruit, salami and sweets. She made this one for me for a date night.
And, it's all on a super cute heart board! Some of my favorites were this herby cheese and even a little macaron! I am always a fan of the salty and sweet together. There was even this beautiful rose on top (and my middle name is Rose!). What is your favorite goodie to find on a charcuterie board?

Have you ever been to a Taco John's? If you haven't spent much time in the Midwest, there's a chance that you haven't.
While traveling through Ohio, I found a Taco John's location. The Mexican-inspired fast food chain offers tacos, burritos, bowls, nachos and more - standard fare.
I ordered Mexican donut bites, which are little fried bits of dough with sugar - you can't really go wrong, right?
I also tried out a breakfast burrito. Pretty standard, run of the mill burrito with scrambled egg, cheese, potatoes, peppers and sausage. Warm, slightly mushy and pretty average. But, it does the job.
Here's the mail, it never fails, it makes me wanna wag my tail. When it comes I wanna wail MAIL.

I discovered a new charcuterie small business, and I felt it was my duty to check it out.
Based in Scott Depot, Goldilocks Grazing Boxes offers a 10x10 box for $50 that I thought would be perfect for a date night.
After scheduling my order with them on Facebook and meeting to pick up my order at Fruth pharmacy in Scott Depot, I came home to unwrap our treasures.
The cheeses weren't as unique as others I've had - simple swiss and colby jack. And the same with honey ham. But, there were a couple salamis, I loved the cream cheese-filled peppers with everything seasoning, and there was a nice mix of blueberries, strawberries, grapes and raspberries. Plus red pepper hummus, spinach dip, and a little olive-feta mix.
It's always fun to see what different pieces are combined to created that beautiful mix of flavors and textures. The order also came with a bag full of thin crackers, utensils, bite-size chocolates, moist towelettes and napkins. Have you tried Goldilocks Grazing Boxes?
Have you heard of Mountain Juice? If not, here's what they're all about: We are a Weekly Monday Juicery in Charleston, WV. Mountain Juice is made fresh each Monday morning for afternoon pick up.
If you don't purchase directly from them online, you can also find them at Vandalia Co. and the Purple Onion. I grabbed one while I was getting donuts at Vandalia (what a combo!). I picked up a "Mountain Pineapple," which has kale, spinach, celery, parsley, cucumber, lemon and pineapple. I was hoping it was heavier on the pineapple flavor, but it is not. It certainly tastes green - to me. Have you tried it? Which drink is your favorite?
Did you know?
J.Q. Dickinson Salt-Works recently released a whole new line of spice blends!
They are Ramped Up Ranch, Appalachian Za'atar, Allegheny Herb & Citrus, Smoky Mountain Rub, Blue Ridge Bagel.
I swear I'm not sponsored by them - but I do love them and thought I'd share in case anyone else is looking for holiday gifts! Have you tried them yet?
