When you're at the top of a mountain in winter, what do you want?

Hot chocolate maybe? Warm blankets?

Or, how about a margarita and tacos?

Snowshoe may have been reading our minds because they recently opened Sunset Cantina.

They have a variety of flavored margaritas, and I went with a peach one.

Then, we had salsa, queso and guacamole.

And, I also got a burrito: Burrito - Your choice of protein with chipotle black beans, cilantro rice, vegetables, wrapped in a flour tortilla and topped with queso with smoked pork carnitas.

The newest brewery in West Virginia is open, and I had a chance to check it out within the first month.

Old Spruce Brewing, located at Snowshoe, is serving up their own porter, blonde, ESB, hazy IPA and red IPA.

While here, I went with a classic blonde, which was so tasty.

And they had snacks, like trout dip, spicy bacon, and more.

Have you been here yet?

I'm slowly making my way eating around Snowshoe. And while there recently, I decided to stop at Wildcat Provisions to pick up some quick breakfast.

Snowshoe always has new restaurants for me to try.

One that has been on my list for a long time is "Appalachia Kitchen."

Anything Appalachian has my name written all over it.

"We offer farm-to-table modern American cuisine with regional Appalachian flare. All our meats are sourced regionally from Appalachian farms, and when the season permits, all our produce is also sourced from regional farms."

We started with some fresh bread to begin our meal.

Then, I went for one of their soup specials - salmon and dill. I don't know that I've ever had salmon in soup before, so this was unique. Extra tasty with the freshly baked roll.

And one of the specials for entrees this evening was shrimp and grits. I can never turn down some good shrimp and grits. Maybe not necessarily in line with the name, but certainly tasty.

For dessert? A blueberry cobbler with ice cream.

Have you been?

Snowshoe has a few restaurants on its property.

Just a quick shot to show all the locally made goodies at the WV Market, which also has a location in Charleston and Vienna!

At Snowshoe, I got to take this fun tour where we drove a RZR to this hut across the mountain where a personalized dinner was prepared.

Before dinner, though, there was an escape room.

Bread

Steak, barley, asparagus

Artichoke dip spread

Brownie with whipped cream

Old Spruce Tavern is a mainstay among locals at Snowshoe.

There's plenty of seating at the bar with a nice beer menu.
