The Crystal Cafe is a classic Parkersburg restaurant that serves homestyle breakfasts, lunches and dinners.

After walking in, I seated myself in a little nook so I could take in the whole place - which was full of regulars and smiling faces.

The menu features a little bit of everything.

Those sandwiches caught my eye first because sometimes that's just what hits the spot!

Salads, entrees, burgers and dogs all seemed popular.

But breakfast was what I was here for - and that breakfast wrap with sausage, lettuce, tomato, cheese and mayo had my name on it.

Add a bowl of fruit, and it made for a top-notch breakfast!

After leaving Niagara Falls, we found ourselves halfway home and starving.

Lisa scoped out this adorable nearby coffee shop called The Bean.

This sweet coffee shop pairs fresh roasted coffee with breakfast snacks, sandwiches and soups.

And, they had some really cute branded merchandise for sale, too.

I wanted some combination of sweet and salty, so I started with a Mountain Berry muffin.

My best guess is that a Mountain Berry muffin has multiple berries - like raspberries and blackberries.

See how cute the interior is!

I could definitely see myself hanging out here if I was local!

For over 50 years, our restaurants have been Canadian owned and operated, serving Canadians all across our beautiful country. Much has changed in the past 50 years, however our recipe has remained as true and as delicious as ever. Our Harvey's grill-masters charbroil each burger to perfection at 600˚F on an open-flame grill. Once the burger is set in front of you, we let you choose from a selection of fresh toppings and together we build your perfect burger right before your eyes. Your burger made just the way you want it. Now that's a beautiful thing! (ABOUT)

The interesting thing about this place is that everything comes plain and you specify how you want it topped - which would be great for picky eaters!

I got a cheeseburger and got the standard toppings - minus relish - to try it out. A little ... rubbery, but not horrible.

And poutine! Which was OK.

Fries are fries.

Have you been? What's the best thing?

We decided to make a day trip to Toronto because we're crazy.

One of my requirements was that we find a restaurant so I can document my Toronto adventure.

We found pretty good reviews of Seven Lives, so we made our way to the area. It was complicated to find parking since many of the roads were shut down in this area so it's pedestrian friendly on Sundays. Cool concept, tough for visitors. After circling around many times, we actually found a parking spot pretty close!

Seven Lives had a line wrapped around the building, and they were outside turning tacos like crazy.

I ordered a baja fish taco, and they wrote it down and moved me along the line.

Look at all those name!

You can add your preferred salsa and lime.

Baja taco! This was fresh and tasty. A bit tough to eat with all the toppings, but not bad!
