I've had the pawpaw ice cream. The pawpaw sorbet. And now, I had to try the pawpaw muffin. Pawpaw season at Ellen's is the best.

St. Clairsville has a cute little downtown area and tucked in the midst is a DiCarlo's location.

This one has a modern take, with cute plants on each table and a trendy vibe.

The pizza was piping hot with long shreds of mozzarella and provolone that just melted gently overtop.

There are so many delicious places in Harpers Ferry that I have yet to try. But I was recently able to knock one more off my list: The Anvil Restaurant.

Known for their legendary crab cakes, the restaurant also serves other classic favorites.

Since it was lunch time, I ordered the crab cake sandwich which came with lettuce and tomato.

This part of the state is big on seafood - and I'm here for it.

Snowshoe always has new restaurants for me to try.

One that has been on my list for a long time is "Appalachia Kitchen."

Anything Appalachian has my name written all over it.

"We offer farm-to-table modern American cuisine with regional Appalachian flare. All our meats are sourced regionally from Appalachian farms, and when the season permits, all our produce is also sourced from regional farms."

We started with some fresh bread to begin our meal.

Then, I went for one of their soup specials - salmon and dill. I don't know that I've ever had salmon in soup before, so this was unique. Extra tasty with the freshly baked roll.

And one of the specials for entrees this evening was shrimp and grits. I can never turn down some good shrimp and grits. Maybe not necessarily in line with the name, but certainly tasty.

For dessert? A blueberry cobbler with ice cream.
