My dad fell ill not too long ago, and we spent a good bit of time in Weirton.

My mom and I tried some new restaurants around the city while in the area.

Spicy Gringo's is a popular Mexican restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.

My mom went for a quesadilla, while I opted for a mini burrito sampler.

The sampler included shredded beef, shredded chicken, chorizo, choricken (chicken and chorizo) and Yucatan Chicken (orange juice, mango, ginger, and chicken).

Wheeling always has something fun going on.

And most recently, they opened a public market that has a coffee shop at the end.

Flat Iron Coffee Co. is the newest coffee shop, and I couldn't wait to check it out.

And I ordered an iced latte with caramel.

Plus one of my new favorite pastries of all time - this fruity, cream cheese delight.

What a perfect combo.

While traveling through the area, I stopped in Parkersburg for dinner.
And I went to Stirfry 88, which is the only location in West Virginia but a common food court option.

So I got two options: General Tso and Orange Chicken over lo mein. Mmmmm.

The Pallet Bar is a craft beer bar in Scott Depot.
With a huge variety of beer on draft, this bar also has a great selection of cans and bottles, too.
My friend Kinsey and I tried the seasonal pumpkin beer - Saranac - and then I got the very last of a tasty blueberry beer from Sea Dog Brewing Company.
And there are "pallet" cleansers. How cute is that?
I had little pakoras (with blue cheese because they were out of tamarind) and pierogies.
So tasty. Have you been?
