Boasting 24 homemade flavors, Farm House Ice Cream in Bridgeport is a small, independent ice cream shop with big flavors.

The shop itself is clean and modern and is the perfect backdrop for your Instagram photo of your dessert. Menu options include cones, cups, milkshakes, brownies, cookies, and more. Ice cream flavors rotate seasonally, but some I contemplated were birthday cake, butter pecan, and cookie monster.

I ultimately ordered a specialty s'more shake, which was delicious. It's like a sweet vanilla base with the textured bits of graham cracker plus the sweet roasted chocolate flavor. Complete with whip cream and a cherry. Can't go wrong.

The Pizza Place is a delicious Parkersburg-area pizza joint that has spread a bit outside its region - like to Bridgeport. They serve up their Neopolitan and Sicilian-style pizza at the mall.

The Neopolitan is a more traditional New York slice, whereas the Sicilian is a thick crust. I actually really enjoy them both - they're two different things to me. But, I do feel like I can get New York style just about anywhere, but very few places have the thicker Sicilian style. So, I ordered two of those pieces.

The crust is thick, but crunchy, so it creates a solid base for that puffy layer of cheese and turned-up little pepperonis cooked to a crisp. I'm sure there are some minute differences between the locations, but to me, it tastes as good as any other.

Roasted Ice Cafe opened in the Bridgeport mall in 2022 before moving locations this past February. After just a month in the new location it closed permanently. Before they shuttered, I stopped by their mall location.

They had a large menu, which included everything from espresso and matcha to frappes and Italian soda. The ladder is not something I have seen very often in West Virginia, so it piqued my curiosity.

So, I ordered an Italian soda with strawberry and peach. They added whipped cream and a cherry on top, which made it feel extra special. but, I was handed a bit of a sticky mess. though, it was still pretty tasty. It's kinda like a soda, but it definitely feels lighter and fruitier. It was smooth and sweet.

Tokyo Teriyaki Chicken is a Japanese themed fast casual restaurant in the food court at Meadowbrook Mall in Bridgeport. I didn't come here with the highest expectations, but I love Asian food of all sorts, so I can usually find some redeeming qualities. But, my teriyaki shrimp was a plate of cold and hard lo mein noodles with a few pieces of overcooked shrimp. No sauce, no veggies. No flavor.

I visited Bridgeport Farmers Market for one of its last markets of the season.

There were so many vendors that were new to me, so I went on a bit of a shopping spree.

These are the ones I visited: The Bread Bowl, Feathers Fire Pit Kettle Corn, Poe Run Craft & Provisions, Hannah's Candies, Re:Source Sanctuary & Farm, LeRoy's Bakery, Haven Herbs and Uncle Frankie's Pasta Sauce.

The Bread Bowl - homemade breads, specifically sourdough and salt rising bread. I got a few of these little mini flatbreads with toppings that were tasty.

Feathers Fire Pit Kettle Corn - both sweet and salty, this kettle corn was freshly made and delicious.

Poe Run Craft & Provisions - they offer everything from garlic spreads to Wolfe and pillows. I purchased a garlic spread that I'm excited to use as a mixture the atop a meatloaf.

Hannah's Candies - candies, treats, and everything delicious. I definitely left with a bag full of cookies to snack on for the trip home.

Re:Source Sanctuary & Farm - they have pepperoni rolls! I had to get a pack to try. Not bad!

LeRoy's Bakery - a beautiful display of cupcakes caught my eye. Plus they have items like cinnamon rolls, galettes, cookies and more

Haven Herbs - lots of Appalachian herbal goodness happening here: teas, tinctures, etc.

Uncle Frankie's Pasta Sauce - Spicy Alla Vodka & Tomato Basil. Roasted Pineapple Salsa. Hot & Sweet Peppers & Sauce. I can't wait to try the jar I purchased.

Let me set a scenario for you: It's a cool late summer/early fall day. You're at the farmers market. There's a donut food truck. Does it get much better? I caught Drifter Doughnuts at tbe Bridgeport Farmers Market recently and had to get my hands on these mini donuts.

They serve a small boatload of mini donuts topped with all sorts of goodies, like fruit, nuts, caramel, and even bacon. I went for cherry crisp, which had cherry pie filling, cream cheese icing and graham cracker crumbles. Sweet, crisp donuts with that fruity, comforting topping - a delish snack on this day.

DeNuzzo's is a deli in Bridgeport that will unfortunately be closing its doors. But I had a chance to visit it recently, and I wanted to share all the goodies available there.

Let me start by touching on the products on the shelves available for sale. Whether it is pasta sauce or the pasta itself, there was plenty to choose from.

There were also refrigerated products, like stuffed peppers, and other charcuterie essentials. I snagged some marinated garlic.

And then there is the deli counter, which has all sorts of deli meats and cheeses, available to purchase by the pound.

this is also where you can select one of a dozen or so sandwiches to be made with those fresh Boar's Head deli meats and cheeses.

I went with Blazing Bianca - Golden Roasted Chicken, Pepper Jack Cheese, Creamy Buffalo Sauce, Lettuce, & Tomato. It was a little heavy on the buffalo sauce, which over took the flavor just a tad. But it was still delicious and I could still tell the ingredients were fresh and high-quality.
