I was so super lucky to help judge the 5th Annual Childhood Learning Center Mac & Cheese Cook-Off today.
Equipped with a spoon and a sheet of 20 different macaroni & cheese versions to try, I headed around the booths to dig into cheesy goodness.
I filled this sheet out with as much detail as I could.
But here are a few highlights:
There were buffalo mac & cheeses, mac & cheese with bacon, mac & cheese with breadcrumb topping and more.
One of my favorites was from Stephen Fernandez who made his with miso, nori, pork, corn and other delicious bits. It made it a bit fresher tasting, when mac can get pretty dense.
Others ran the gamut from super cheesy to creamy and thick.
There were rigatoni pasta, shell pasta, radiatore pasta, cavatappi and more.
Another favorite was Paterno's, which used goat cheese and caramelized onions for a super savory macaroni & cheese.
How do you like your mac & cheese?
Because there was just about every kind you could imagine here!
Big Joe's got creative with the hot sauce on the side of the buffalo mac & cheese
This heart attack in a pan had six kinds of cheeses!
I loved the giant noodles here.
Asher Agency used a white chocolate which made for a super sweet and salty macaroni & cheese that I am now obsessed with.
Mmm crunch.
Buffalo mac was a top choice this year.
With bacon or without bacon.
This one packed some heat!
This panko-crusted fried mac & cheese ball was delish, too!
This one was a bit sweet, too. Very tasty.
And my ultimate favorite went to Capital Insurance Group - sweet, savory and mmm.
Did you go?
Here's my breakdown.
