Hinton Railroad Days

Railroad Days

I recently was able to ride the New River Train Excursions, which takes riders from Huntington to Hinton to experience Railroad Days.

Railroad Days

It felt like my first "official" train ride - the only others I've done really being at Cass.

Railroad Days

I was in car #9 - Lake Pepin!

Railroad Days

The train is designed to go through the gorge at peak fall foliage. It was a little late here, but still amazing views.

Railroad Days

Once we got to Railroad Days, there were so many delicious goodies - like kettle corn.

Railroad Days

And local syrup!

Railroad Days
The Ritz Theatre is a local theatre, and I was able to go inside!

Railroad Days

They were featuring these "popcorn sundaes," which is a layer of popcorn, candy and a syrup.

Railroad Days

So, I definitely had to try it.

Railroad Days

And I took a little tour of the theater while here - I would love to come see a show!

Railroad Days

The perfect combo of salty & sweet.

Railroad DaysThere is a small restaurant downtown called Kirk's Market & Cafe, where I ran into to warm up a bit.

Railroad DaysThey have a small menu of options - but the hot chocolate caught my eye.

Railroad DaysWhile in there, though, I saw these apple hand pies and needed one of those, too.

Railroad DaysThey even had homemade fudge.

Railroad DaysYum!

Railroad DaysWho could resist?

Railroad DaysOK and another favorite was Tammy's Chocolate Cravings.

Railroad Days

These caramel apples were out of this world.

Railroad Days

The one I got was caramel, milk chocolate and white chocolate reese cups.

Railroad Days

Easily the best candy apple I've ever had.

Railroad Days

And she had all sorts of different flavors!

Have you been on this adventure? What's your favorite?
