The Breakfast Caffe is a small restaurant on Blue Horizon Drive.



It is tucked away just out of the main traffic area and near some former businesses and hot spots. If you weren't intentionally coming out this way, there's a good chance you would miss it.



I placed an order online, but they were pretty busy so I took a seat inside and waited for the food to be done. The decor is minimal, but I think they're still finding their way. The menu, of course, has breakfast staples, like eggs, bacon, and pancakes. But the eggs Benedict caught my eye, because it's one of my favorites. That, plus a side of loaded hashbrowns, called my name.



I will say, it may have been the strangest eggs Benedict I've ever had. The eggs were like fried instead of poached. The hollandaise was not topped, but kind of thin and running about and broken. The hash browns were well done, but not necessarily super crispy.



So, they have some room for improvement. At the end of the day, nothing was bad. It was fried eggs on an English muffin and potatoes, and that's a perfectly fine meal. Not what was expected, but not bad.

Adalbertos Mexican Food is a 24-hour restaurant that offers tacos, burritos, breakfast items, and a drive-thru window.



I stopped here and had the most bomb breakfast burrito I've ever had. You can get all the standard proteins - like bacon, sausage, and even steak. Then there's ham. Potato. Jalapenos. Pico de Gallo. And my answer was yes, yes and yes.



And this was all wrapped up in this giant flour tortilla. It was just full of goodies, but still sturdy and didn't fall apart.



Everything was fresh, which is the key to me with eggs. No fake eggs or dried out eggs. It was moist and flavorful and filling.

Smithfield's Chicken 'N Bar-B-Q is a quick service restaurant chain in North Carolina that serves southern-style bar-b-q, fried chicken, hushpuppies, shrimp, and more.



I ordered some chicken tenders with hush puppies, slaw, and potato salad. I got to say, those are some bomb sides for being the standard issued ones. usually that would be an upgrade or increased cost.



If I were smart, I would've got the barbecue as well so I could compare the two. But, I can at least comment on the chicken.



It had that really crispy, crunchy coating that almost makes it taste more of the fried breading than of the actual chicken itself. decent chicken, pretty good sides that lightened the whole thing up a bit. Not bad overall.

If I had to pick my favorite dessert, it might be s'mores. They are delicious, fun, nostalgic, interactive, and are even rooted in girl power.



When I visited the Hershey store in New York City, I was mostly hoping to find some treats that you can't find and every other store locally.



What I didn't expect to find was a gourmet, s'more bar where you could purchase a giant s'more to take home.



You can opt to have a Reese peanut butter cup, KitKat, Hershey's Cookies & Cream - and more - sandwiched in your s'more. But I went with the classic Hershey milk chocolate.



This really was a giant s'more with the graham cracker of us being like a giant graham cookie, a bit soft. And the marshmallow was more warm and gooey than toasty and charred. It was still delicious and its own right and a fun novelty.



And I did also get to purchase some unique candies, like the flavored Hershey bars with mint, strawberries & cream, or birthday cake. They were all like the cookies and cream base but with a little extra zip.



I also found a counterpart to the Whatchamacallit bar - the Whozeewhatzit bar.



"Funny name. Serious flavor. The WHOZEEWHATZIT Chocolate Candy Bar is packed with chocolatey crisp and smooth peanut butter wrapped in rich chocolate. Its attention-grabbing name was submitted by Hershey candy super-fan Lisa M."



So that was pretty cool to try something new. And to also resurrect some old favorites.



they were also showcasing some of these KitKat's that have duo flavors.



These are more widely available now, so not super coveted for me.

Upon completing a quick Google search for coffee shops in the Bridgeport area, I made my way to Stonewall Coffee. I had been to the downtown Clarksburg location previously, but the Bridgeport one was new. AND has a drive-through, which was exactly what I needed for a quick pick-me-up. I ordered a frozen hot chocolate, which is one of my favorites anywhere. I like that it has a deeper, richer flavor than a super creamy milkshake, but all the coziness of a hot chocolate. This is the perfect solution when you want a hot chocolate on a warm day. You just get it frozen. Hit the spot 10/10.

Who doesn't love a good library? So when I learned of this library, plus restaurant combo in Indiana, my friend Kayla took me to check it out.



Woody's Library Restaurant has some fun library decor, though the menu doesn't follow suit. It does, however, have a ton of variety with everything from fish and chips to sloppy joes to tacos to bison meatloaf. I know a lot of times this is found upon because it shows may be a lack of focus or expertise in one particular area. But I understand the importance of appealing to a wide crowd that has something for everybody. So, everybody can find some things they like at one place.



I started off with the cheeseburger soup. It was a really thick cheese sauce with some ground beef. I wondered if there would be the addition of tomato or lettuce or onion. But it's mostly the two main components of the sandwich, and it's not bad in soup form, but I think I prefer the actual thing.



I ordered the sloppy joe minis, which had two open face slider buns topped with just a mound of sweet and tangy ground beef with honey chipotle barbecue and American cheese. It was definitely a fork and knife situation. again these weren't bad. I am a Manwich loyalist so I would've appreciated a bit more zing, but overall a good rendition.

"Rewind ... is a where ice cream meets cereal to create cereal infused ice cream. During our childhood, we would spend most of our Saturday mornings watching Saturday morning cartoons and eating cereal for breakfast. As we grew older, our time in front of the TV steadily declined and so too did our consumption of cereal... Our guests are able to drill their favorite childhood cereals such as Fruity Pebbles, Cinnamon Toast Crunch or Oreos mixed together with super premium 16% butter fat ice cream and topped off with graham cracker crumbs, gummy bears, chocolate or caramel drizzle and teddy grahams among others!" according to their website.

I ordered Rewind to be delivered when I was staying in Arizona with a friend. I ordered a vanilla milkshake with cookie dough, Oreos, and marshmallow. I almost wish I would've done a chocolate base, just out of curiosity. But the milkshake I made was pretty delicious. There's always that point when the cookie pieces are a little bit too big and they kind of get mushy but they were fairly small so it all just blended well together. A pretty good milkshake overall - no complaints.

I am casually on a journey to try all of the Sam's Hot Dogs locations in West Virginia. I am not as determined as my Tudor's and Gino's adventures, but as I see them, I'm trying to check them off. So I went to the Elkview gas station, which had a Sam's hotdog location inside and wanted to check it out. However, I've had a lot of Sam's Hot Dogs at this point, and I saw that this location had some other items - like the spicy chicken sandwich - I got this with mayo. Now, this is a gas station, so there isn't much to be said for the ambience, seating or service, but I was pleasantly surprised with the sandwich. It's totally simple, but it was pretty good. The bread was grilled. The chicken was crispy and moist, and the mayo was standard, but gave it that creamy element and, I think, above all else, it was better than I had expected. It was better than I could make it home. And I wouldn't hesitate to order it again.

Cross Lanes is home to a Husson's Pizza location, and I stopped by recently to see how it stacks up to the other locations. I placed my order online, as per usual, and it was ready as soon as I arrived. But they do have some seating if you choose to dine in. I took mine to go and opened up my box as soon as I got in the car.



I actually went for a pizza with all the toppings this time. Olives, mushrooms, banana, peppers, pepperoni, sausage, onions, and green peppers. The works. There really is something delicious with all these toppings combined. I can see why my parents ordered pizzas like this for so many years. I like changing it up and enjoying new flavors. It's fresh, but hearty and crunchy but gooey. My biggest qualm is that the pizza was not cut well, so sometimes the pieces would drag off toppings of other slices, and it became quite a chore to eat without utensils. and, of course, when some slices have toppings, and some don't, it changes the flavor.

Boulders is not necessarily a restaurant that we sought out, but it was nearby, convenient, and quick when our tummies were rumbling while out and about in Mesa.



we were the only ones in the restaurant at the time but service was still a little slow. The atmosphere is bike & climbing themed, and the menu reflects that too.



we started with something called "pizza nuggets," which instantly drew, our attention. But really, it was more like a flatbread with marinara sauce on the side. I guess if you rip off pieces they could be considered nuggets? A little bland.



For my entree, I went with a mushroom swiss burger, which was pretty average. Patty was a little dry; a sauce could have done a world of difference. I went with sweet potato tots on the side, which were fine, but again, could have benefited from a good complementary sauce. I didn't really want to use ketchup or ranch, but a sweet and tangy sauce would've been a nice pairing.

I attended a new-to-me event this evening.



Tuxes & Tails is Kanawha-Charleston Humane Association’s largest and most important fundraiser of the year. One of my favorite parts of the evening was the wiener dog races. My friend, Kelsey, entered her dog, Teddy, who came in second place!



Soho's catered the event and offered cheese, fruit, shrimp cocktail, shrimp skewers, hot browns, meatballs and some desserts. Later on, they brought out some pizzas, as well.
