After a quick shopping trip at Southridge, I was looking around to see a locally owned restaurant for lunch and quickly found Pizza Barbarossa.

The restaurant was very busy on the day I went, but I was still in and out pretty quickly.

The menu features a good variety of pastas, pizzas, calzones and more.

I've been to Rocco's in Ceredo, and it's one of my favorites in the state. And, Rocco Muriale, who owns Muriale's in Fairmont, also has one of my favorite restaurants.

So, when I saw Rocco's Little Italy in downtown Huntington, I wanted to check it out - especially considering it carries on a namesake in the state that I'm quite fond of.

I'm not sure if this location is affiliated with any of the others, but it's definitely a quicker, more on-the-go option compared to the other two more romantic, sit-down spots.

You order at the bar, pay there and even if you get food to eat in, it comes in to-go boxes and plastic trays. Above is the salad with house Italian.

Austin's Homemade Ice Cream is a much-beloved ice cream shop in Ceredo that serves homemade local favorites like Grape Pineapple. Recently, the opened a location in downtown Huntington at The Market.

The Market will host a variety of other shops and restaurants soon.

Since I've had their notable Grape Pineapple, I went with a new flavor - praline in a turtle sundae.

What's your go-to at Austin's?

The Big Loafer is one of the few places I could find in the Huntington area that dish out a pepperoni roll. Since they made the book, I've been excited to try out their pepperoni roll.

It came as a round pocket cut into quarters. I pulled apart half, then ate each quarter.

Super light & flaky and almost buttery! Have you tried it?
