OWL Bakery stands for Old World Levain Bakery, and it features "NATURALLY LEAVENED BREADS, EUROPEAN PASTRIES, LIGHT FARE, COFFEE, TEA & WINE."

The bakery is fairly small - but boy, is it mighty.

I looked over the case and couldn't decide on just one. So, I had to get a couple!

First, let's talk about the Portugese Custard Tart. This classic pastry is sooo good that I simple could not pass it up.

And then, there were a bevy of more savory pastries.

But I saw one with mushrooms, and it had my name written all over it.

Get this "tomato jam, herbed goat cheese and mushrooms."

Ohhh myyyy goodnesss.

It's perfectly sweet and tart and earthy.

Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory is a chain chocolate shop, and there's just one location in West Virginia - inside the Cold Stone Creamery in Huntington.

I've seen this shop in airports, etc., but never actually tried any. Until recently.

While in Huntington, I made it a point to stop by to check it out.

The selection isn't huge, but they had a few standouts - like a salted caramel chocolate and chocolate-covered Oreo. I opted for a salted caramel chocolate! Not bad.

Dawn was in the mood from some old-school comfort food.

So we found Tastee Diner, which has a large breakfast menu, boozy shakes and all the fried appetizers you could want.

One thing I wanted to be sure to try was a Carolina Dog, which had chili, slaw, mustard and onions. Sound familiar?

And a side of fries with queso is always a good idea.

And, you always need a milkshake. In this case, it was a cookies & cream one!

It's a standard diner with some tasty food.

The former Moonlight Cookies in Huntington has rebranded to PAX Cafe.

And while the previous focus was on their cookies, don't fret.

Cookies are still on the menu - chocolate chip, caramel and more.

But now, the menu has expanded to include sandwiches, wraps and salads.

So I thought it would be a good time to stop back in and try out something new!

The special on the list was "Kate's Chicken Salad Sandwich," so that sounded perfect.

This sandwich is filled with a thick layer of chicken salad, which is made with chicken, mayo, apples, celery and pecans all on multigrain bread.
