Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races is home to The Epic Buffet, which is what it sounds like: epic. 

The buffet has a huge circle in the center and the back wall all full of offerings.

There is comfort food. There is Asian food. There is salad. There is dessert. And everything in between.

Some of my favorites included fried rice, General Tso's chicken, and pierogies.

They even had a make-your-own-pho station.

And stir-fry, too.

Silver Dragon is a Chinese restaurant in Lewisburg that is primarily takeout, but they do have a few tables inside for folks who want to dine in.



The menu isn't unlike the traditional American-Chinese restaurants, with the addition of bubble tea.



I went with honey chicken with steamed rice and an eggroll.

The Eastern Panhandle is one of my favorite spots. I love the sense of community and local art and local beer.

The Bavarian Inn is home to incredible meals, but it recently added a brewery to the offerings. Bavarian Brothers Brewing is one of the newest breweries to enter the West Virginia craft beer scene.

Our Brew Pub and Lounge were designed by highly acclaimed “Industrial Design” of Frederick, Maryland. The Brew Pub features a dining area with wooden tables and chairs that can be set up flexibly for individual dining tables or to mimic a German style beer hall. Beautiful high A-frame type ceilings with exposed wooded beams, huge glass doors that access our new Garden Patio and views of the brewery and its stainless steel tanks make this an impressive space. 

Our Brew Lounge is designed to give our guest an all day soft seating lounge and bar. Wood floors, leather sofas, high back chairs and a stone fireplace make this a great space to relax with friends. A state of the art wine preservation machine offers wine flights and 8 premium wines by the glass. The bar doubles as a quick service coffee counter in the morning featuring coffee drinks by local roaster, Black Dog Coffee and small pastries and breakfast bites. 

The coolest part of our outdoor Beer Garden is the new fire pit. Enjoy after dinner drinks around the fire or families are invited to roast marshmallows with our S’more kits.

The Beers: Our beers are a representation of what we try to do throughout our resort, "Remember our European Roots, and Embrace our West Virginia Location". We constantly rotate and showcase different flavors from our onsite Boutique Brewery. While the selection may change, our promise is that the beer will always be of the utmost quality and consistently made.  Below is a sample of what you may find on your next visit.

I did a flight so I could try a few. These are the ones I tried:

Sozial, Session Ale - ABV 4.4% 

Chief Logan is one of the largest state parks and has its own restaurant.

So while in the area, I was excited to try it out.

The Whispering Ridge Dining Room has a buffet, but I was interested in trying it out.


I went for the meatloaf, which came in two individual loaves, with mac & cheese and a baked potato.

There's something just really cool about and old-school soda fountain.



Patterson's Drug Store in Martinsburg is the local drug store, but there is also a counter running along the side that dishes out milkshakes, sundaes, floats and more.


I looked over the menu and went for a "Gi Gi Sundae" to go. The "Gi Gi" is made with salty caramel truffle ice cream topped with chocolate syrup, whipped cream and a cherry.


I only wish I could have had a beautiful glass for a classic photo, but taking it to go was even better.
