The original Smokin' Jack's is located in Reedsville, though different iterations have migrated toward Morgantown (here and here). But it was time to visit the original.
The rustic restaurant specializes in barbecue - complete with wooden planks everywhere, country decor, and a menu full of smoked meats. Ribs, brisket, pulled pork, pulled chicken, plus sandwiches, pizza, burgers and wings.
"Momma Mann's Pepperoni Rolls" were speaking to me - deep-fried pepperoni rolls with marinara. I thought these could have been crisper on the outside, but I did love that the heat made the cheese inside ooey gooey.
I also ordered deep fried corn on the cob, which sounded exciting in theory. But in execution, it was more laden with oil flavor, than crispy texture. Not bad. But, I think room for improvement.
